Inclusive and Supportive Community
Join a safe space where BIPOC and queer individuals can connect and empathize with others who have experienced unexpected job loss. Our community forum provides a platform for mutual support and shared experiences.
Free Self-Care Resources
Take advantage of our free tools for self-care, including trauma-informed yoga workshops and somatic practices. These resources are designed to help you heal and maintain your well-being during challenging times.
Job Search Support
Access a wealth of job search resources and networking opportunities tailored for BIPOC and queer communities. We offer guidance and support to help you navigate the job market and find new opportunities.
You are Not Alone
We wanted to establish a community which would make you feel less alone. Going through an unexpected job loss is extremely scary, especially if you don't have savings or you experienced a toxic situation prior to being let go. You are going through a grieving process, one which could involve many emotions. That's why we are here to support each other and create a strong community of BIPOC and queer folks who are being held in a safe container and are ready to seek out the support.
BIPOC and Queer Community
When we were creating this community, we wanted to form a safe and inclusive environment. That is why we chose to invite only people who identify as BIPOC and/or queer. In many traditional forums, often cis gender white males dominate the conversation. We want to hear the voices of the most marginalized people. Often the stories of job loss involve issues with leadership, belonging and discrimination. This is a safe space to open up, be vulnerable and be seen.
No Cost To You
We have seen some career coaches charging thousands of dollars and we refuse to build a community for the sole purpose of capitalizing off its members. It is completely free to join the Slack channel and you will have access to free virtual workshops to help you process your grief and other emotions related to your job loss. You may choose to work with Marivia and Jula for 1:1 or paid group coaching sessions in the future, but there is never any pressure to purchase anything. All the resources on the Slack channel are free and available to you.
Community Support Forum
Our community support forum offers a safe and empathetic environment where BIPOC and queer individuals can connect and share their experiences. Members can network, seek advice, and provide support to each other during this challenging time. The forum is moderated to ensure a respectful and inclusive space for all participants.
Virtual Workshops and Gatherings
We offer free trauma-informed yoga and meditation workshops to help you relieve your stress and anxiety during this time of transition. These are also designed to help you get unstuck and to feel more safe in your body. We have other special workshops to help with your job search, including topics on LinkedIn, networking, interviewing skills and much more.
Job Search Resources
Our free Slack channel will have a variety of job search resources, including resume building, interview preparation and how to access the hidden job market. We are a community which shares resources with each other and we encourage you to do the same if you find tools and sites which have been useful to you. We encourage you to ask questions in the community to receive support, guidance and advice.
